Yes, I'm talking about your body and my body and everybody's body on Earth!! This incredible totally unique machine, which is referred to as 'you', and which cannot be reproduced or manufactured by any science, has its own story, a story which belongs to you alone. In this story is the true wholeness of your Being; of your body, mind and spirit.

Most of us seem to have this very real tendency to think of our physical bodies in quite an impersonal way. We expect them to function for us. Period! And we don't give much thought to the natural process that is occurring every single second in our bodies, to keep us alive. Our hearts pump blood along the roadways of the arteries and veins, our liver and pancreas work as partners in controlling our blood sugar, and as long as our lungs breathe in and breathe out, we are alive.

All of these functions, and many thousands more, are going on continuously without any conscious contribution from you. The truth is, the human body is the most remarkable machine in existence. There is no computer that surpasses its capability. There is no mind brilliant enough to synthetically make a human. And there is no way to keep the body alive when its natural story is complete, and it is time for its passing.

Bodytalk Introduction

Based on what we understand from quantum physics, and theorems such as Bells Theorem, it seems every single cell, of the 50 trillion cells in your body, is in constant communication with every other cell in your body. Isn't that an amazing realisation? This means no one part of your body can function independently. With this constant communication comes a working together of the parts of your wholeness.

Wholeness (holistic) means having all aspects of your body, mind and spirit in a state of balance, harmony and wellness. On the contrary, when aspects of our body are not in full communication, when this communication has been compromised by the many forms of stresses of life, a state of disharmony then begins to manifest in the physical, emotional, and/or spiritual aspects of ones' body. The manifestation of the imbalances might be in the form of digestive, hormonal, heart, skin or breathing problems. Or it might show with multiple symptoms such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, constant virus', cancer or a myriad of other diseases.

Why is Your Unique Body Story Important?

Well, the uniqueness reflects your own special story, the story of your life with all of its details. Every single experience of your life has come through your body in one way or another, through one or more of you five senses. Most of the time you experience the happenings, fell the emotions and let them go. However, at other times, the event or emotion has an impact on you, it has an emotional energetic charge to it, and instead of letting it go you store the experience in your body. When an event or emotion gets stored, the 'charge' of it acts like a short-circuit in the communication I mentioned earlier. What then follows is that the necessary link between certain aspects of your body becomes weakened or in some way compromised. When that happens, and the communication is no longer optimal, symptoms manifest in the body. We call this 'dis-ease'.

Certain parts of our bodies have a tendency to hold certain kinds of emotions. This means when an experience has an emotional impact on us, this event can be stored unconsciously in the bodymind.

Using the ancient Chinese medical model, the liver tends to store anger. The heart is often susceptible to depression, and the lungs might hang on to grief. Each of our organs, endocrines, and muscles, can grab and store experiences which have impacted us. We could say that our bodies are like a map of our lives! These are very simple examples, used just to help illustrate a point.

The story becomes much bigger when we look at the consciousness and different personalities of our body parts. The reaction to the emotion is unique to each of our personal stories. For one person an experience will be just an experience and there will be no hanging onto it, while the seemingly same experience will be `charged' and stored by another person. Whether or not a life experience becomes stored depends on the current emotional state of the person, the uniqueness of that particular person's history, and even his/her inherited emotions and tendencies, among other things.

As these energies become stored we begin to experience less than optimal health, be it through physical and/or emotional symptoms. It is not possible for a practitioner, regardless of his/her skill and sensitivity, to be able to say what is 'wrong' with the person. Of course there are very valid tests and methods that lead to a description of what is happening, and this description of what is going on is what we call the 'diagnosis'. While it is possible to say what appears to be behind the valid diagnosis, who can say what is behind that apparent cause. In other words, behind the causes is the life story of each unique person, and your biography becomes your biology. As it is not possible for another to read the life story of 'you', it begins to become feasible to see how the healing of the bodymind is a process unique to that person.

The word 'holistic' refers to the totality of a person. Most healthcare practices, be they allopathic or integrative medicine, concentrate on the `problem' body part believing the source of the problem is related somehow to that particular area. The reality, however, is that the illness may be caused by something not related to the body part which is demonstrating the symptoms. On the contrary, by accessing the person's story of how the life experiences have been stored in the body, is what makes the BodyTalkSystemTM a truly holistic healthcare system. This means the body, mind and spirit levels become balanced according to the priority needs of that person, and once this happens it is possible for healing to occur on many levels.

Using this system, the Innate Intelligence of the body becomes the guide, and it tells the BodyTalkSystemTM practitioner what links need to be repaired. Once we have this unique information, we then use the BodyTalkSystemTM to balance the indicated links which, in turn, restores the previous communication glitch. As the balance of the body is enhanced, the body is capable of healing itself! If the body is asked, rather than being told, it will reveal the most intimate details of that persons story through a sequence of links. And as this uniqueness unfolds, and the priority pieces get balanced, always as indicated by the body, the person begins to heal. There are no limits to this process. Bowen Technique

BOWEN TECHNIQUE (Bowtech)

Thomas A. Bowen (1903-1982) developed this technique in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. After serving in World War II, Bowen became interested in ways to alleviate human suffering. He began to notice that when he made certain moves on the body, it had particular effects. The technique is unique in that it was developed without Bowen having any previous training in any modality or discipline; in fact, he frequently stated that his work was, ‘simply a gift from God’. Over a period of several years he developed the system as it is used today.

In 1974, while attending a National Health Conference in Adelaide, Australia, he was introduced to massage therapist, Oswald Rentsch. Although Rentsch knew nothing of Bowen’s work, he spontaneously asked if he could train with Bowen and was subsequently invited to study with him.

Ultimately Bowen authorized Oswald and Elaine Rentsch to document his work, as he had no notes, charts or manuals the Rentschs could copy. At Bowen’s own request, it was not until after his death that the Rentschs began teaching his technique. The Bowen technique has since been introduced throughout Australia, New Zealand, North America and the United Kingdom.

How does the Bowen Technique (Bowtech) work?

Simply stated, the Bowen Technique resets the body to heal itself. The work consists of a series of gently rolling connective tissue moves, using a light touch and may be done through clothing. There are frequent important pauses between these moves which give the body time to benefit from each set. By combining moves, both in placement and in combination, the practitioner is able to address the body as a whole or target a specific problem. A unique tool of the Bowen practitioner is ‘tissue tension sense’ meaning the practitioner is able to discern stress build up in muscle groups and then utilize Bowen moves to release that stress.

The Bowen technique balances and stimulates energy flows, resulting in a deep sense of overall relaxation. The restorative process begins once the body is relaxed, and continues as the body allows. Healing seems to occur by affecting the body’s autonomic nervous system which creates homeostasis at the cellular level.

The Bowen technique is referred to as a ‘complementary’ modality. This means it will enhance and complement – not interfere with – other medical attention. However, doing other manipulative therapies immediately after a Bowen session can undermine the effectiveness of the continuing Bowen work. Waiting a week before commencing additional body treatment is therefore recommended.

Following a Bowen session, it is recommended that the client, for the rest of that day, does not sit for longer than half an hour at a time (stand and move around and then sit down again) and that extra water is drunk.

Homeopathy

Introduction

In 1796 a German physician, Samuel Hahnemann discovered a different approach to healing patients. He called this method homeopathy (this is Greek for ‘similar suffering’.
Hahnemann realised there were two methods to treat a patient: either by using contrary means or by using homogeneous means.

A person suffering from sleeplessness can be given an ordinary soporific. This drug calms down the too ‘alert’ person and the too ‘troubled’ nervous system. When taking this medicine is stopped, it is often still more difficult for the person to get to sleep.

In homeopathy ‘homogeneous’ means are used. In other words a person suffering from insomnia will receive a medicine which if given in a higher dosage would cause insomnia.

The great advantage of this method is that there will not be a getting used to this medicine and there will not be side effects. By recovering the normal bodily functions, a natural sleep will come about.

Classical Homeopathy

In classical homeopathy the whole human being is treated as a whole.
Insomnia or stomach ache is not looked upon as a separate complaint, but in their totality as a total human being. Accordingly, when speaking with a classical homeopath for the first time, it is imperative to pay attention to other bodily or psychic complaints by the side of the principle complaint, e.g. what about your energy? Are you quickly tired? How is your appetite? Are there circumstances when you are easily afraid?
These matters are of real importance, because when the healing process is started the total human being will react in both body and mind. In this way it is easier to see if and how vital functions improve by the healing process.

In classical homeopathy medicine is sought after for the total human being.
Consequently it is a medicine attuned to the typical complaints and manners of behaviour of that particular person.
A healthy person when taking that medicine (in a high dosage) would certainly get the complaints the sick person is suffering from. In complex homeopathy a number of remedies have been put together which might cure a complaint.
Another difference is that classical homeopathics are mostly given only once. After that the reaction of the patient is watched. In complex homeopathy the medicine is mostly given daily in a certain quantity. The difference lies in the potency of the remedy.

Homeopathic medicines are principally prepared from vegetable materials. Homeopathy uses animal products, minerals, some chemical materials as well.

From the plants a basic tincture is made which is gradually diluted. After each grade of dilution the fluid is shaken. This process is called ‘to potentiate’. This dilution is effected in grades of 1-10 or 1-100 and sometimes even higher. In the first there is a D potency and in the second a C potency. The final product receives the name of the initially used material, mostly in Latin. After the name comes the letter of the sort of potency and a figure indicating the number of potencies, eg Arnica D3 or Arnica 200C. The D3 can be given more often seeing that the energetic value lies on a different level to that of the 200C.

In principle homeopathic medicines can be safely used together with other regular medicine but never stop taking regular medicine without consulting your doctor first. It is important that you do not swallow homeopathics and regular medicine at the same time.

Naturopathy

Naturopathy – focuses on holistic, proactive prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. Naturopaths help facilitate the body’s innate ability to restore and maintain optimal health using therapies such as aromatherapy, homeopathy, supplements, massage, lymph drainage, etc.

What is a Naturopath?

Naturopathic Medicine, or Naturopathy, is based on the belief that the body can heal itself. Naturopaths believe the body has the ability to repair itself and recover from illness if it is supported by a healthy environment. Naturopaths aid and support that healing process by incorporating a variety of alternative health methods based solely on the needs of the individual.
